First time in Thailand — order, SIM, and three-day plans

A first Thailand trip goes better when the first day is logistics, not a temple marathon. SIM or eSIM, cash, Grab installed, a neighborhood you can walk at night, and a sleep that matches your landing time. After that, the country opens up.

The classic overstuffed plan is Bangkok towers plus a floating market plus Pattaya plus Chiang Mai in five days. People here will tell you what to cut. A useful first-timer question includes nights, arrival airport, and whether this is food, beaches, or cities.

Families and solo travelers need different first nights. Kids change the temple-and-stairs math. A 48-hour layover is its own itinerary — say the exact hours you are on the ground.

Read the visa and transport topics if those are your blockers, then ask the remaining “what order” question here. Mention the month: rain, heat, and holidays change the first-week plan more than another list of famous places.
