How does my location work?

Meet Locale places you automatically using your device location — tap "Use my current location" on the home screen or in the place switcher and we drop you exactly where you are, even somewhere brand new. To look around elsewhere, open the place switcher (top of your feed, or the right sidebar on desktop) and search for any city; your feed, people, and activities update instantly.

What is an emerging place?

You don’t have to pick from a fixed list of cities. The moment you arrive anywhere, that spot becomes a place named after your province or region — not individual villages — and as more travelers show up nearby it grows from "new" to "emerging" to an established community automatically.

How do connections work?

Send a connection request from anyone’s profile or card. Once accepted, you can message each other and see each other’s updates.

How do I host an activity?

Go to Create, choose the Activity tab, set a time, place, and capacity, and publish. Travelers nearby can request to join.

How do I verify my account?

Open Settings → Verification & safety and tap Verify my face. You will record a short live video using your front camera while following on-screen prompts. Our team reviews it privately. Face verification unlocks messaging new people, hosting and joining activities, adding trips, women-only spaces (for eligible members), and adds a trust badge to your profile. We do not accept gallery uploads or government ID for this check.

How do live location sharing and SOS work?

From Safety tools you can generate a time-limited link that shows your live location to people you choose. Anyone with the link can view it until it expires — share carefully. In an emergency, contact local authorities first.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Profile and use the delete account section at the bottom of the page. Deletion is permanent. See our Privacy Policy for details on what is removed.
