Terms of Service

Meet Locale (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates a social service that helps travelers and locals in a country community post, meet people, and connect. These terms cover meetlocale.com and any related apps or services we provide (the “Service”).

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, the Community guidelines, and the Privacy Policy. If there is a conflict, these Terms control for how the Service is offered; the Privacy Policy controls how we handle personal data.

You must be at least 18 years old. By registering, you confirm that you meet that age, that your details are accurate, and that you are not prohibited from using the Service by law or by a previous ban.

You are responsible for your login details and for activity under your account. Write to support@meetlocale.com if you think someone else is using it.

• You may sign in with email and password, or with Google where that option is shown.
• If you use Google, we receive basic profile information as described in the Privacy Policy.
• You may delete your account from Settings → Profile. Deletion is permanent, subject to the limited retention in the Privacy Policy.

You keep ownership of what you post — photos, posts, messages, and similar. You grant Meet Locale a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content only as needed to run and improve the Service.

You confirm you have the rights to post it, and that it does not break the law, these Terms, or the Community guidelines.

You agree to follow the Community guidelines. Harassment, hate speech, scams, spam, impersonation, and sharing someone else’s private information without consent are not allowed.

We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close an account that breaks these rules or puts people at risk. We do not have to watch every post, but we may review material to keep the community usable.

Face verification is optional. A live check in the app can add a verified badge. It is not required to post, appear in People, or message after a connection is accepted.

• If you verify, you must use your own face and follow the on-screen prompts.
• You must not use a recording, a disguise filter, or another person’s likeness.
• We may remove a badge or an account if the check was faked.

You may add a neighborhood or city as free text on a profile or post. We do not require GPS or a city hub to use the Service.

Meet Locale helps a conversation start. If you later meet someone in person, you do so at your own risk. We are not the organizer, host, or insurer of any meetup.

Safety pages are guidance, not a substitute for local emergency services. In an emergency, contact local authorities first.

Direct messages open after a connection is accepted. Notifications may be delivered through hosting and realtime partners. Do not use these channels for unlawful, abusive, or unsolicited commercial messages.

We use other companies to run parts of the Service — for example sign-in, hosting, email, and realtime delivery. Their terms and privacy policies may also apply when you use those pieces.

The Meet Locale name, logo, design, and software belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or resell the Service except where the law says you may.

You may stop using Meet Locale at any time. We may suspend or close access if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or to protect people and the platform.

Terms that naturally survive — including licenses already granted, disclaimers, and limits on liability — continue after the account ends.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise unbroken access, that user posts are accurate, or that any connection will be a good idea for you.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Meet Locale and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss arising from your use of the Service, from other users, or from in-person meetups.

We may update these Terms. The new version will appear on this page with a new “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we may also tell you in the app or by email. Using the Service after a change means you accept it.

These Terms are governed by the laws that apply where Meet Locale operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your country still apply.
