Do I need Thai numbers to read prices?
I live here. You need 1–10 at a stall, not a course. Bargain is walk-away. This is the digits.
Point, then the notes
| Digit | Thai (common) | Use |
|---|---|---|
| 1–5 | หนึ่ง สอง สาม สี่ ห้า | A posted bowl. Confirm before they plate |
| 6–10 | หก เจ็ด แปด เก้า สิบ | Same. สิบ is 10 |
| 20 / 50 / 100 | ยี่สิบ / ห้าสิบ / ร้อย | Notes in the wallet. Small bills at a booth |
| No number on the grill | Walk. Fish thread already said it | Performing English at an unpriced kilo |
I will not teach *sawasdee*. Allergy Thai is Helen’s card. This is whether you can hear “haa sip” and not pay a hundred.
Stall or a mall receipt, and if the price is already printed.
