When are the Similan Islands closed?
People still buy “Similan” in July. The park is not a vibe. It is a DNP calendar.
Closed means closed
| If | Fact (as of 30 Aug 2026) | Not |
|---|---|---|
| Mu Ko Similan / Mu Ko Surin | DNP closed tourism for the 2026 monsoon. Nation Thailand, 15 May 2026: 15 May–15 Oct 2026 | A tout in Patong selling a July “Similan” day trip |
| Today (30 Aug) | Still closed. Reopening is October — confirm on the park / pier | Treating 15 Oct as a boat you already own |
| You meant Samui | Different sea. Different monsoon | Pasting Andaman park hours onto the Gulf |
| You want water in August | Phang Nga / a pool. Not those two parks | A renamed “island tour” that is not Similan |
Annual pattern is mid-May to mid-October. Check DNP the week you go. Park fees are posted there; I am not quoting a blog.
Month you actually travel, and whether you meant Surin too.
