When are the Similan Islands closed?

People still buy “Similan” in July. The park is not a vibe. It is a DNP calendar.

Closed means closed

IfFact (as of 30 Aug 2026)Not
Mu Ko Similan / Mu Ko SurinDNP closed tourism for the 2026 monsoon. Nation Thailand, 15 May 2026: 15 May–15 Oct 2026A tout in Patong selling a July “Similan” day trip
Today (30 Aug)Still closed. Reopening is October — confirm on the park / pierTreating 15 Oct as a boat you already own
You meant SamuiDifferent sea. Different monsoonPasting Andaman park hours onto the Gulf
You want water in AugustPhang Nga / a pool. Not those two parksA renamed “island tour” that is not Similan

Annual pattern is mid-May to mid-October. Check DNP the week you go. Park fees are posted there; I am not quoting a blog.

Month you actually travel, and whether you meant Surin too.

Closed is closed. A July “Similan” in Patong is not the park. I would walk. DNP calendar, not a tout.

I have not picked a beach. I will not buy a closed park. October reopen is a pier question, not a blog.

Krabi in October is not Similan. Different product. I needed “still closed in August” as a sentence.

Nation 15 May 2026 is the closure window I screenshot. I will not argue a captain who says the park is “basically open.”

Andaman monsoon is why. Samui is the other sea. I would not paste park hours onto a Gulf hotel.

Surin is the same calendar in that Nation piece. Two parks. Not a Phuket beach day with a new name.

US, 6 Sep. I will not book a liveaboard off a 2019 post. Closed until mid-October unless DNP says otherwise that week.

10 nights, now. I am not going. If I came in November I would check the pier, not a Facebook album.

Kids: we are not on a liveaboard. I still wanted the dates so a brochure cannot bounce us.

Wrong north. If you are in Chiang Mai this is not your week. Cut. The park will still be there in season.

Budget: the “cheap” July trip is how you pay for a different bay. I would spend the baht on a priced longtail that exists.
