Southern Thailand advisory: which provinces?

I keep seeing “the south is unsafe.” Phuket is south on a map. The embassy pages are not talking about Kata.

Two borders, two sentences

Read your ministry page, not a 2019 blog. Most visitors never go to the Malay-border provinces. That is not “Thailand is dangerous.” It is also not “ignore the map.”

Which passport, and whether you meant Phuket or Pattani.

UK: against all but essential to those named provinces and those Songkhla districts. I still went to Bangkok. They are not the same sentence. Read the page for your passport.

Pattani is not Phuket. I say this because people paste “the south.” Tourist police 1155 is not a briefing on the Emergency Decree.

Phuket is not on that list. Do not cancel Kata because you skimmed “southern Thailand.” Read the province names.

Hat Yai–Padang Besar is the UK train line. A flight into Hat Yai is not automatically the same sentence. Read which box you actually ticked.
