Halal food in Chiang Mai that is not a mall?
Bangkok already has the Nana thread. I need the north: not pork, Muslim-run if possible, not only a food court in a shopping centre.
Where the mosques are is where the kitchens are
| Area | Why people send you there |
|---|---|
| Chang Khlan / Night Bazaar | Ban Haw Mosque and a dense Muslim quarter; khao soi shops and Indian/Middle Eastern rooms sit on that grid |
| Charoen Prathet / Anusarn | Evening stalls; look for Muslim-owned signs, not a laminated “HALAL” on a pork kitchen |
| Chang Phuak / San Pa Khoi | Other mosque catchments if you are staying north of the moat |
HalalTrip and local Muslim guides name Ban Haw, Chang Phuak, and San Pa Khoi as the mosque map. Khao soi in this city is historically a Chin Haw / Muslim-kitchen story — the useful shop is the one next to the mosque, not the one with the biggest English menu on Nimman.
“No pork” and “certified only” are different maps. Say which. Bangkok thread is a different city: search Nana/Asok on this feed.
How strict, and Nimman or Chang Khlan. That is the map.
