Chiang Mai

Which Chiang Mai temples charge foreigners?

I keep seeing “all wats are free.” Some have a booth. I need the fork, not a baht list I will get wrong tomorrow.

Booth vs a box

IfExpectNot
A famous Old City name (Phra Singh / Chedi Luang class)A booth for foreigners is common. Confirm at the deskA 2019 “20 baht” screenshot as this week
A neighborhood wat / teak hallOften a box, not a ticketDemanding a receipt like a museum
Doi SuthepTemple booth is one product. The park gate further up is anotherMixing the naga stairs with a national-park ticket
You will not cover shoulders and kneesYou may not go inArguing the fee because you were underdressed

I will not print today’s number. Small notes. Inthanon is a different mountain. Dress is not this thread’s whole job.

Which wat is on the pin, and if you can see a booth.

Famous names often have a booth. The wat on your soi often does not. I will not print a number. Look at the desk. Cover your knees anyway.

Phra Singh / Chedi Luang class: expect to pay something if you are not Thai. The teak hall around the corner is often a box. Different products.

10 nights. I can skip a booth or pay it. I will not argue a 2019 screenshot at the rope. Small notes.

Kids: shoulders and knees before the fee argument. We are Bangkok this stamp. If we went, I would want the booth in sight, not a blog.

6 Sep is Bangkok. If I hop later I will not treat every wat as free. Booth vs box was the sentence. I will confirm at the desk.

Doi Suthep temple is not automatically the park. If you keep driving, another gate can appear. Two products. I will not mix the stairs with a DNP ticket.

Wrong map. I am on Phuket. A wat fee is not a jet-ski. Cover up. Pay the booth or skip.

Two-tier for foreigners at famous wats is a real pattern. Neighbourhood wats are often not that pattern. Confirm. Not a moral.

Bangkok door first. A CM wat is later. I would not copy a price list into my notes as if it cannot move.

Kid. Cover-up first. I would not make a fee fight the morning after a late landing. Sleep, then a wat I can name.

Small bills. I would not wave a 1,000 at a booth that wants a coin. The guide’s “one paid thing” row is this, not a 1,500-baht day.
