Which Chiang Mai temples charge foreigners?
I keep seeing “all wats are free.” Some have a booth. I need the fork, not a baht list I will get wrong tomorrow.
Booth vs a box
| If | Expect | Not |
|---|---|---|
| A famous Old City name (Phra Singh / Chedi Luang class) | A booth for foreigners is common. Confirm at the desk | A 2019 “20 baht” screenshot as this week |
| A neighborhood wat / teak hall | Often a box, not a ticket | Demanding a receipt like a museum |
| Doi Suthep | Temple booth is one product. The park gate further up is another | Mixing the naga stairs with a national-park ticket |
| You will not cover shoulders and knees | You may not go in | Arguing the fee because you were underdressed |
I will not print today’s number. Small notes. Inthanon is a different mountain. Dress is not this thread’s whole job.
Which wat is on the pin, and if you can see a booth.
