BTS Rabbit card vs paying per ride

Three to five days on Sukhumvit. Do I buy the plastic or just the machine ticket.

The fare is the same distance

BTSC published an adult maximum 65 THB including extension lines from 1 November 2025. Short hops are less. Calculator: bts.co.th/eng/routemap.html. A Rabbit does not make the ride cheaper. It skips the queue.

You live on the MRTMRT’s own token/cardRabbit is not a citywide oyster. Yellow/Pink are the usual exceptions people mention

ARL is a different ticket. Do not assume the Rabbit opens Suvarnabhumi gates.

How many days, which line. That is enough to answer.

Rabbit is convenience. Same fare as the token. If you are here four days on BTS, the queue at Siam is the reason, not the 65 THB cap.

Booth at any BTS station. Foreigners have been asked for a passport to register the card under newer AML rules — confirm at the window, do not fight a 2024 blog.

Does it work on MRT Blue. Usually no. Yellow/Pink are the lines people mention as Rabbit-friendly. Blue is its own token.

ARL is not BTS. People buy a Rabbit at Phaya Thai and then look confused at Suvarnabhumi. Different system.

One-day pass exists for a heavy single day. If you are doing four hops and then sitting in a hotel, skip both pass and Rabbit.

Cap is 65 including extensions from 1 Nov 2025 on BTSC’s published adult max. Short hop is still a short hop. Use the calculator.

Can I tap a foreign credit card on BTS gates yet. I keep seeing mixed answers.

Do not plan on bank-card tap at BTS the way some cities work. Ticket or Rabbit. ARL contactless is a different sentence.

Stored value leftover. Can I get the unused baht back or is the issuance gone either way.

Issuance is commonly not refunded. Stored value is the part people ask about at the booth. Ask them before you load 2,000 for a 3-day trip.

Staying in Old Town, maybe two BTS rides total. Sounds like tokens. Rabbit would be a souvenir.

Children / tourist pass. Different window. This thread is adult stored value vs token. Do not mix the kid ticket in here.
