Does immigration still ask for 10,000 baht?

TAT put out a reminder on 6 July 2026. It is not a new law. Officers may ask. The 10,000 figure is not the only Interior amount. This is not legal advice.

If you cannot tell which exemption band applies to your passport, pack evidence for the higher figure. Shortage at the desk is worse than leftover cash.

What this is not

Ask with nationality and entry type. Then believe the officer.

TAT 6 Jul 2026 is a reminder of Interior amounts, not a new stamp. Officers may ask. They often do not. Carry something you can show.

US passport, exemption. Some embassy pages still say 20k/40k. TAT table says 10k for certain exemption cases. Which one do I pack for.

If the two pages disagree, pack the higher figure. Shortage at the desk is worse than leftover cash. Cards on a phone are hit-and-miss; cash or a statement you can actually open.
