10 days Malaysia. KL → Ipoh → Penang or reverse?

KL → Ipoh → Penang flows north — ETS connects all, each leg 2–2.5 hr. Ipoh 2–3 nights between KL skyscrapers and Penang island food reset. Cameron Highlands branches from Ipoh direction without KL backtrack. Reverse fine. Book Ipoh–Butterworth ETS early weekends. Hotter than Penang — cave temples AM only.
