Hotels half price. Regret not Ao Nang for first trip?

Krabi Town sits on the river — no beach, no pier for island tours. Fine one night before a 6am flight (closer to KBV), wrong base for a beach holiday. Hotels half price but you Grab 20 min to Ao Nang daily (150–250 baht each way). Night market and riverside dinner worth one trip. Holiday base: Ao Nang, Railay, Tubkaek, or Khlong Muang — not Town.

Almost booked Town — glad we didn't. Ao Nang pier walkable to tour shops.
