Rent bicycle in George Town — safe or chaos?
Saw rentals near Armenian St. Traffic looks tight for cycling.

Heritage core cycling works 7–9am only — flat grid, slow traffic, murals at pedal pace. After 10am heat + delivery motorbikes + tourist buses make it stressful; I wouldn't bike at night. Rentals RM10–20/hour near Armenian St — helmet rarely included, insist if you want one. Stick to one-way streets with bike paint if present. For longer distance use Grab, not legs. Penang drivers are used to bikes but don't give much space. Walking + CAT bus beats noon cycling every time.

Rented 2 hours, stuck to Armenian/Lebuh Acheh before 9am. Afternoon would've been death.
