Air Itam (Pasar Air Itam) near the flats — the famous auntie stall, RM5–7, tart tamarind broth, queue moves. Best combined with Kek Lok Si morning. Siam Road "Laksa Janggut" style is another canon — slightly different balance, also worth it if you're laksa-obsessed. For first-timers: Air Itam is the benchmark. Grab RM15–20 from GT. Closed some Mondays — check before you trek. Assam laksa is an acquired taste (sour + mackerel) — if you hate it, try curry mee same trip instead.

Penang Road Teochew chendol next to Sup Hameed — dessert after spicy laksa, tradition.

Air Itam market stall by the flats — sour, fishy, loved it. Siam Road was milder for my friend.
