Kimberley Street after 7pm for classic wok-hei char kway teow — longest queue stall, closed Tuesdays. Red Garden on Leith Street is the backup when Kimberley is shut. Lorong Selamat's "famous" stall is fine once for the hype (RM15+ portions) but locals rotate. Assam laksa belongs at Air Itam market near Kek Lok Si, not Gurney Drive — different dish, different neighbourhood.
