Need data before Grab. 8 days Malaysia only. iPhone 14 — eSIM ok if setup is quick.

All three work in KL — Celcom and Maxis have the widest coverage if you're day-tripping to Genting or Melaka. Airport kiosks in KLIA2 arrivals sell tourist SIMs around RM30–45 for 7–15GB; passport required. eSIM via Airalo or Holafly works if you buy before landing and have QR ready — no queue, but you need WiFi to activate. Digi (now CelcomDigi) is fine in the city. For 8 days, get a 30-day tourist pack and don't overbuy unlimited unless you're hotspotting. Install Grab and Touch 'n Go apps on airport WiFi before you activate data — saves fumbling at the curb.

Bought Celcom at KLIA2 arrivals — RM35 for 15GB/7 days. Staff installed the SIM, took 5 minutes. Grab worked before I left the hall.

eSIM failed on my older Android — physical SIM safer if you're not tech patient.
