KLIA prepaid taxi coupon — still worth it vs Grab?

Ignore the touts in the arrivals hall — they'll quote RM150+ for a ride that Grab does for RM75–110. Official airport taxi coupon desks (Touch 'n Go or cash) charge a fixed zone rate around RM85–110 to Bukit Bintang/KLCC — safe but rarely cheaper than Grab off-peak. Grab is fine at midnight if you book inside the terminal on airport WiFi before exiting to the curb; pickup is at the designated ride-hail bay (follow signs, level 1). Prepaid coupon makes sense if your phone/SIM isn't working yet. Never follow someone to an unofficial car park. Fixed RM65 Grab airport fares ended in 2025 — prices are dynamic now, so check the app before you choose coupon.
Grab at KLIA worked fine — RM89 to BB at 12:30am. Pickup zone is signed, ignore guys shouting "taxi taxi" in the arrivals hall.
If landing KLIA2, same rules — use app or official desk, not curbside negotiators.
