Sukhumvit or Chinatown for a first-time stay?

Husband and I have 5 nights before heading south. Torn between Asok BTS vs Yaowarat for food. Mid-30s, not party people.

Sukhumvit Asok or Phrom Phong for a first visit — BTS/MRT interchange at Asok, malls, mid-range hotels, Grab to Yaowarat dinner (20–30 min off-peak). Chinatown as a base is loud, harder for sleeping, fewer elevator hotels, but Wat Mangkon MRT improved access. Stay Sukhumvit, eat Yaowarat after 6pm when the street food actually wakes up. Silom/Sathorn works too if you prefer Lumphini mornings.

Silom/Sathorn third option — Sala Daeng BTS, Lumphini walks, boat to Old Town. Still Grab Yaowarat at night.

Stayed Asok — zero regrets. Chinatown overwhelming as home base, perfect night trip.
