Beach holiday but people say don't skip Old Town. Grab time there and back realistic?

Yes — plan half day minimum. Sunday morning best for Thalang Road walking street; weekday still good for Dibuk/Krabi roads and Sino-Portuguese houses. Grab Kata–Old Town 45–70 min (300–500 baht traffic-dependent). 3–4 hours covers cafes (One Chun, Raya), street art, Thai Hua Museum if interested. Beach tourists skip it and miss the best island food. Combine with Rassada Pier if Phi Phi ferry next morning.

Went weekday — quiet, hot. Still liked it more than another beach afternoon.
